Whether you’re looking to embark on what could be the adventure of a lifetime or simply want to enjoy a mountain setting with waterfalls, mountains, caves, owls, talking logs, nature, a remarkable wrestling team, a lively bar with live music, delicious food (especially the coffee), and even a relatively nearby casino, Twin Peaks is just what you’re looking for.

This minimap shows seven of the essential stops on any trip to this beautiful location in the Pacific Northwest, but our recommendation, now and always, is to go with the flow, interact with the locals, who are famous for their friendliness, and if you if you feel the fire near or far, invite it to walk with you.

1. Great Northern Hotel

Next to Snoqualmie Falls, this family- run hotel, owned by the Horne family, is the ideal place to stay in Twin Peaks. Excellent coffee. Ask about their foundation to preserve the lovely Pine Weasel.

2. Double R Cafe

Run by the owner, Norma, who is a delight. All the food is incredible, but the freshly made cherry pie and black coffee are particularly noteworthy. Some would even say it’s a damn fine coffee.

3. Sheriff Department

It’s not usual to recommend a police department, but sometimes strange things happen in Twin Peaks, and it doesn’t hurt to know where to find the local authorities. Sheriff Harry S. Truman, Hawk, Andy, and Lucy will be happy to assist you and share another cup of very good coffee.

4. One Eyed Jacks

For those who enjoy gambling, just a few minutes past the Canadian border, you can find this casino. Although the drive there is very scenic, rumor has it that this casino may contain more vices than gambling, so be careful if you visit.

5. The Roadhouse

A legendary venue with live music at night, frequented mostly by locals. Sometimes evening events are also held on the premises. On concert nights, you may be surprised to find incredible bands such as The Chromatics or NIN.

6. Big Ed’s Gas Farm

Another charming and useful family business, this time passed down from father (Ed) to son (Big Ed). Distances (and sometimes times) in Twin Peaks can be deceiving, so if you plan to explore by car, remember to fill up your tank.

7. The Black Lodge

Without a doubt the most peculiar of all the places on this route. This extra-dimensional space only opens approximately every 25 years, so look for signs of its opening in the skies, encrypted messages from alien civilizations, or listen carefully to the owls or the logs wandering around with ladies.
