Llanes is a very green district in Asturias, northeast of the Spanish coast. Cows can be seen all over the place, it is a paradise for those who love chorizo, and there are some amazing flowers.
It’s a beautiful getaway, perfect for enjoying the beach and the mountains at the same time.

1. Paseo de San Pedro
An almost 1km long grass promenade located on a cliff, despite the impressive views (Cantabric Sea and Llanes) it’s very safe, a stone barrier, benches, trees and access ramps make it child-friendly.

2. Restaurante El Bodegón
Traditional food, cider and a stunning terrace under the shade of trees, the perfect place for a family meal. Llanes can get very busy, so this is a hidden peaceful gem.

3. Parres
Small village 2km from Llanes, great place to stay, it’s close to all the beaches and main points of interest. Very relaxing, surrounded by the Picos de Europa National Park.

4. Playa de Cue
Located at the bottom of a cliff, like all beaches in this area, the tides change a lot, revealing and hiding different parts of the beach. Parking is easy, a ramp with beautiful views and two large grass terraces provide access and resting areas.

5. Playa de Borizu
Beautiful big sandy beach, at low tide you can access some caves and watch small marine animals hiding on the exposed rocks. The chiringuito is great, ribs are highly recommended.

6. Playa de Poo
Unique beach, when the tide is high it feels like a lake surrounded by cliffs, only a very narrow aperture to the open sea, this makes it a warm beach protected from waves, ideal for children.

7. Museo Etnográfico del Oriente de Asturias
A group of very well preserved traditional Asturian houses, it’s a nice visit to learn and appreciate how this area was populated and developed.
