In Caracas, Juan Daniel spent several years working in advertising agencies as a copywriter. Then, four years ago, he moved to Barcelona eager to focus on really learning lllustration (he loves to draw since he can remember but it remained just a hobby for him for quite some time). “Barcelona has given me the opportunity to meet and collaborate with amazing people doing street art, objects interventions and art performances. Recently got an Illustration Degree at the Escola Massana of Arts and Design and opened my first solo exposition, “Satélite”, with a selection of illustrations I did for one of my song’s animated videoclip (I sing and play the guitar and I’m currently working on what it’ll be my first solo album, hopefully).”

Where do you live? Barcelona, Spain.

Where do you come from? Caracas, Venezuela.

Where do you (day)dream to go next? Lately, Iceland. That or some Fiji island. Total disconnection.

What do you like most about traveling? Reconnect with that observation mode we often lose because of routine. I also like to imagine how my life would be if I lived there.

A ritual or a thing that you cannot miss when you travel? My dad collects fridge magnets from cities all over the world, so that’s a must. And always having my sketchbook with me, so I can sit where and whenever i feel to and draw.
