Meet the editors: Khin Tye. More in www.superminimaps.com

Khin is in-transition, in-between cities, in-between life stages and in-between vocations. Like my travels, I’ve worked and experienced work and life-times in corporate, NGO and charity sectors and am now moving onto creative and innovative work with friends and partners.

Where do you live? Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, U.K.

Where do you come from? I was born in a small town, Ipoh in Malaysia and grew up in Singapore. I went to college and also worked in America: Austin, Chicago, New York. I later ‘went back’ to find my cultural identity in Singapore, subsequently gave up finding any self-identity after 6 years, and moved to London as my home for more than 16 years.

Where do you (day)dream to go next? I want to see the Northern Lights in Iceland, visit the saint Ramana Maharshi’s ashram in Tiruvannamalai, India, go on a safari in the Serengeti and swim with the dolphins in Bali.

What do you like most about traveling? The letting go to curiosity to explore and try new and different things. I love tasting the local food and am quite a risk-taker in my culinary exploration.

A ritual or a thing that you cannot miss when you travel? I send a postcard to my family in America for any new place that I visit and also buy a fridge magnet for my mother.
