Almudena was raised in a conservative neighbourhood but by a family quite fond of arts and culture, and thus more open minded. Her parents are a Mine Engineer and a Geologist, but she’s a Screenwriter and Producer. Her job makes her very happy. She learnt the craft with Lola Salvador and has often worked in Latin America. Currently, Almudena collaborates with indie adult filmmaker Erika Lust. She’s also a co-founder of the collective The Junkyard, a fantastic playground where she carries on more personal projects. Along with The Junkyard they have just published her first book based on a blog, Querido Padre Dios. She is finishing her first novel, writing a guerrilla movie for a Venezuelan director and engaging as a co-producer in various projects of her talented friends.
Where did she find the time to do all these things, and make awesome minimaps? We will never know, but we’re happy she does! (:
Where do you live? Barcelona.
Where do you come from? Born and raised in Madrid.
Where do you (day)dream to go next? I dream of spending a year just traveling with a backpack around Asia and Africa.
What do you like most about traveling? If I can’t travel I become a sad person.
A ritual or a thing that you cannot miss when you travel? I don’t have any special rituals but I am quite a talker, I love to listen to strangers’ stories, anywhere. And I have a weakness for churches, temples and spiritual places in general, as well as for abandoned and derelict structures.
These are the Minimaps Almudena has edited for us:
